About User-attachable GFCI and RCD — fit the protection to your own cable
GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt), also known as GFI (Ground Fault Interrupters) and RCD (Residual Current Device), are safety devices which shut off an electrical power circuit when it detects that current is flowing along an unintended path. One example of an unintended path is through water or a person. GFCIs and RCDs are based on Kirchhoff's Current Law, stating that every point on a circuit must have exactly same current as all other points. Meaning, that if the hot line and the neutral line have different currents, the device is an abnormal condition and will trip, shutting off the circuit and stopping the flow of electricity. USER ATTACHABLE GFCIs allow you to connect the ground fault interrupter to an existing cable that has been ROJ'd (Remove Outer Jacket) and Stripped. These are commonly used to replace malfunctioning or broken GFCI's on existing equipment, or in custom engineering projects.

The NEMA 5-15P is your standard household plug used for to connect small appliances such as TV's, Microwaves, hairdryers, etc to a wall outlet. The NEMA 5-15P is compatible with a Nema 5-20R T-Slot outlet, which is commonly found in new home installations.

The UK BS1363 plug type configuration is rated for 250VAC and 13 Amperes of power in the United Kingdom. It is also classified as the IEC type G, and is the standard plug type for electrical appliances in the United Kingdom. It is the only plug type to have an internally wired fuse in the plug body, adding an additional layer of electrical protection.

The NEMA 5-20P is a 3 Wire grounded plug featuring two blades and one ground pin rated up to 125V AC and 20 Amps. The NEMA 5-20P is used in applications that require higher power draw such as large refrigerators, space heaters,large kitchen mixers, etc. The 5-20R T-SLot receptacle allows you to plug in either a 5-20P or a 5-15P plug, allowing greater flexibility. In modern home installations, 5-20R T-Slot receptacles are often used when 20A circuits are installed due to flexibility of being downward compatable with the 5-15P.

The plug (MALE) is a Type F Schuko CEE7/7. It fits both E (France) and F (European / Germany) type outlets (sockets). Available in straight or down/up angle orientation. The plug has two round pins (line and neutral) each 4.8 mm diameter, 19 mm long and spaced 19 mm apart. The plug also has two flat areas (top and bottom sides) and a female contact for the ground.

A user-attachable device is a GFCI or RCD with screw terminals instead of a moulded cord. You strip your own cable, land the conductors, close the housing — and an existing tool, extension lead or machine gains ground-fault protection without replacing its cord.
Pick by voltage (120 V, 120/240 V, or 230 V RCD), by reset behaviour (manual = stays off after a trip; automatic = returns with power), and by form (plug head at the wall, or an in-line module you can reach at the machine).
